That's one of the best day
classes I've attended, he said.
It's all hands-on and very
practical law enforcement stuff.
It was all really good.
In November, Steve Van Dyke flew to Kansas City and presented a check for $5,000 to Margaret Bullens and the SafeNowProject. “I want to thank Steve and the United States Deputy Sheriffs’ Association for this very generous donation,” Bullens told reporters. “This money will go a long way in helping to protect children against sexual predators. It’s organizations like the USDSA that allow us to continue our work.”
Dallas County, Missouri Deputy Scott Rice contacted the United States Deputy Sheriffs’ Association in hopes of receiving some assistance in regard to their Jailhouse which had partially burned. In response to their dilemma, the USDSA stepped in and donated $2,000 toward the rebuilding of their Jailhouse.
Across the county, the USDSA Defensive Tactics Training Seminars have been featured on numerous network affiliated television stations in several states. According to Executive Director Steve Van Dyke, the media exposure is something the Association has been missing.
“I am very proud of how this organization has grown from nothing to almost 10,000 members nationwide. There is no question that we have come a long way in every aspect of the USDSA. We are donating more equipment and sponsoring more training seminars than ever before. However, I didn’t believe the word was getting out like it should. I wanted even more departments to become aware of what we do and how we can help in the areas of equipment and training.”
United States Deputy Sheriffs’ Association Executive Director Stephen Van Dyke is interviewed by News 9 San Antonio. The television news station covered our Defensive Tactics Training Seminar in Seguin TX.
More than 50 deputies from the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Department
attended USDSA’s two-day training session.
