Work Hours: Varied shifts required, including weekends and holidays.  

General Statement
of Duties:

Dallas County Sheriff’s Department with 6000+ inmates and over 2000+ employees seeks an Assistant Chief Deputy to provide executive-level leadership for the Inmate Housing Bureau.

The Assistant Chief Deputy will lead a management team responsible for 1000 employees with the goal of ensuring optimal performance of officers and utilization of resources.

Mandatory drug testing prior to employment, and will be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment.

Physical ability to perform defensive tactics, walk, run, ascend/descend stairs, etc.

Qualifications: Requirements include a five year minimum of progressive experience in an adult detentions facility, with at least three years of managerial/supervisory experience. 
Certifications: Must be certified as a Texas Police Officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) within (6) months of hire date
